The thriller that began yesterday with five boats carrying about 500 Syrian migrants bound for Cyprus ended a short while ago.
Reliable information of philenews reports that after the departure of two boats in the early afternoon, finally, the other three boats departed for an unknown destination later.
The irregular migrants were given blankets and food by members of the Port and Maritime Police before leaving.
It is unknown whether the passengers will return to Lebanon or try again to come to Cyprus in the coming days.
The Lebanese authorities, according to the same information, apparently did not undertake to take them back to the country while the Republic's boats and radars remained on alert.
The boats had been spotted about 60 nautical miles by Lebanese authorities.
