STUDY FOR ELEVATING THE MYTH OF THE GODDESS APHRODITE - Insufficient awareness of the myth and promotion, the study found It was just recently completed and presented to the Company's Board of Directors of Tourism Development and Promotion of the Paphos Region, part of the first phase of the study for highlighting the myth of the Goddess Aphrodite.

The study is carried out by ETAP Paphos and the first phase was carried out in collaboration with University of Neapolis Pafos which included primary research on all local partners/ organized groups, tourism partners and foreign incoming visitors using a questionnaire.

The survey confirmed the concerns of ETAP Paphos, which, among others, are:

a) the low recognition of the myth by local professionals as well as foreign visitors, b) the partners in general they have insufficient knowledge about the myth of the Goddess, c) the partners as well as the state in general promote the myth to a limited extent or not at all, d) visitors do not "feel" that they are in the area where the Goddess Aphrodite was born and lived.

At the same time, a convergence was found in the views of the partners so that the myth, a) to constitute for Paphos a very important element of differentiation from the competition, b) that there is a need to highlight the local, national and European dimension of the myth, c) need to educate those involved in tourism about the Myth d) upgrading existing and creating new infrastructures e) further investments in the promotion and use of technological and other tools for highlighting the myth.

Afterwards, the creation of a think tank is expected in order to present in full findings, discussion and collection of ideas and suggestions for future projects and actions for the highlighting and promoting the myth of the Goddess Aphrodite.

ETAP Pafos examines all the findings which it will communicate in the coming weeks to relevant ministries and agencies. In the next period, the smart application is expected to be launched highlighting the Myth and to orbit phase B, which includes the creation of a plan action/ roadmap of actions, for implementation in the short, medium and long term.
