The flows of migrants who are believed to arrive from the shores of Lebanon to the territory of the Republic of Cyprus are now unstoppable. Only on Tuesday night (3/4) another 263 people arrived with two boats.

The two boats, in one of which 263 people were crammed, were transferred to Larnaka port. The first boat was transferred around 10pm on Tuesday night to Larnaka Port.

It was found that there were 27 people on board, all from Syria. They are 16 men, 5 women and 6 minors, one of whom is unaccompanied. The passengers of the second boat, which was larger in size, were transferred until Wednesday morning to Larnaka Port.

Members of the Larnaca ICF proceeded to the arrest of a 17-year-old from Syria, who is alleged to be the navigator of the boat on which 27 people were aboard. It is noted that in the last three days alone, 739 migrants arrived on 12 boats.

The competent services continue to be on alert for possible new flows, while actions are also being taken at the political level, following the extraordinary meeting on Tuesday of the National Security Council under the President of the Republic.
