The scheduled meeting was held today at the Department of Town Planning on the issue of the construction of an overpass, for the safe passage of pedestrians and bicycles, on Tassos Papadopoulos Avenue in Paphos.
The meeting was attended by MP and vice-president of DIKO, Chrysanthos Savvidis, and officers of the Departments of Town Planning and Public Works. During the discussion, everyone understood the necessity of creating this project.
According to Mr. Savvidis, three possible scenarios were discussed: To proceed with the existing design, to make a new design of lower cost and to design and build.
Eventually, it was decided that the most correct solution is to ask the architect who won the architectural competition to make a new costing of the project and present it at a subsequent meeting.
The other two options were rejected because there would be a long delay, as Chrysanthos Savvides clarified. The architectural proposal by Elena Pattichi is excellent both in terms of functionality and beauty, since when the project is completed it will be a real gem in the area, he concluded.
