CRIME ROUND UP

Another 32 people arrived from Lebanon last night on a boat that was spotted 22 nautical miles south of Cape Greco. They are 19 men, 3 women, 7 unaccompanied minors and 3 children.

The boat was initially spotted by Republic's radar at the Search and Rescue Coordination Center. In the sea area, 22 nautical miles south of Cape Greco, where the boat was located, the Port and Maritime Police attended.

It was found that there were 32 people on board, 30 Syrians and 2 Palestinians. These are 19 men, 3 women, 7 unaccompanied minors and 3 children, who were safely transferred to the port of Larnaka where their details were recorded.

They were then transferred to the Pournara Migrant Temporary Accommodation Centre in Kokkinotrimithia.   Police arrested a migrant as the alleged navigator of the boat.

Cyprus Police

The Police arrested a 27-year-old man yesterday, to facilitate investigations regarding four investigated cases of attempted burglary, burglary and theft, committed early yesterday in Paphos. The four cases were reported yesterday, to the TAE Paphos, by house owners in Paphos. According to the two complainants, during the night, an unknown person entered their homes and stole various items of unknown value. In a third case, during the night, the offender allegedly entered a house, without stealing anything, while in the fourth case, the offender allegedly tried to enter a house, but did not succeed. From the Police examinations, testimony was obtained against the 27-year-old, on the basis of which a judicial arrest warrant was issued against him. The 27-year-old was found and arrested yesterday afternoon, while today he was brought before the Paphos District Court, which issued a five-day detention order against him.
