Filenews 8 March 2024 - by Despina Psilou

Another 5-6 centers with state servers are located in inappropriate areas, Deputy Innovation Minister Dr. Nikodemos Damianou said during an information meeting with journalists. At the same time, he stressed about the facilities of the servers that were flooded that "the result of the finding does not satisfy me".

In particular, he noted that he expected conclusions of possible attribution of responsibility, which is not the case. The report, the Deputy Minister said, will be sent to the Legal Service for a position.

Studying the research report, he finds:

>Long delay and time-consuming decision-making procedures (regarding the transfer of IT systems from the inappropriate places in which they are located, to appropriate data centers).

>Significant deficit and inadequacy of a culture of delegation.

>Significant deficiencies in the procedures and mechanisms for monitoring systems and conditions in data centers, based on best practices.

>Weaknesses, dysfunctions and inadequacies of the way of administration.

Mr. Damianou noted that there are about 40 centers with servers and that steps are being taken to transfer them all to suitable places.

In relation to the problems of e-justice, he noted that actions are being taken to improve the problems and meetings with stakeholders have been scheduled. He assured that they will do their best to meet the needs that exist, commenting that the system that was delivered was very problematic.
