The confession of a Syrian immigrant who arrived by boat in Larnaca last Thursday, February 29, is shocking.
As he himself testified to the Police, during the trip of his family of six to Cyprus, one of his four children, aged six, died of starvation and, as he stated, threw his lifeless body into the sea.
According to information from SigmaLive, the migrants travelled for around 10 days, as a result of which they ran out of food and water and the child could not survive.
The Authorities had located the boat off the coast of Larnaca and there were 31 migrants on board, including children, some of whom were taken to hospitals for treatment.
According to the statements of the passengers of the vessel, three other people fell into the sea to bring help and have been missing ever since.
The Authorities proceeded to arrest a 22-year-old man who was allegedly the navigator and who was brought before a Court, which ordered his eight-day detention.
Among other things, a case of homicide is being investigated against him.
The investigations of the authorities are in full progress to establish on the one hand whether the testimony is true and, on the other hand, to determine the next steps, both for the alleged death of the six year old child and the disappearance of the three immigrants.
