Even one of the most emblematic monuments of Pafos was vandalized by unknown persons in the context of the conflict that has recently begun with the president of the CFA.
The perpetrators apparently wrote slogans against Mr. Koumas during the night of Saturday to Sunday in black paint on the Makarios and Resistance Monument, at the eastern entrance of Pafos, creating an unacceptable image on the monument, which is located in one of the busiest parts of the Pafos Municipality and very close to the Police Department and other state services.

The unacceptable vandalism was noticed at the first light of day by passing motorists who informed the Police. Members of the force rushed to the scene and saw slogans against the president of the CFA on the bust of Ethnarch Makarios, which dominates the area.
Investigations immediately began to collect evidence and testimonies that will lead to the arrest of the perpetrators, while material from several closed circuit businesses and other premises in the area is already being examined.
The desecration of the monument follows a similar action that took place a few days ago in Nicosia, again with slogans against Mr. Kouma on shop facades, for which two arrests of young people were made.
