The opening of three faithful skis "caused" the low barometric "Dawn" that has been affecting Cyprus for the last three days.
The snowfall in recent days has allowed the snow level to reach a sufficient level to open the first ski slopes.
However, according to the Department of Meteorology, the bad weather is weakening today.
The situation in the road network
At the moment, the slopes are not accessible, as the roads leading to Troodos remain closed to all vehicles.
Kakopetria – Pine Wood – Pedoulas, Pedoulas – Prodromos, Prodromos – Platron and Prodromos – Lemythos roads are open to vehicles with four-wheel drive or equipped with anti-skid chains.
At the same time, the roads Karvounas - Kyperountas, Papoutsas - Agros, Papoutsas - Agios Theodoros and Orkodas - Kykkos are open but slippery due to frost.
Drivers moving in the mountainous areas are asked to be especially careful, since due to the prevailing weather conditions the roads are slippery.
