The Ministry of Health has proceeded with the annual update of the prices of medicines licensed in Cyprus for 2024, with the date of validity of the updated prices on February 1, 2024, the Health Insurance Organisation said in a statement issued on Tuesday.
Due to the price update, there will be changes in Contribution II of some medicines reimbursed by the GHS, resulting in a variation in the amount beneficiaries will pay to the pharmacy for these medicines as of February 1, 2024.
In particular, Contribution II will be differentiated for 371 out of 2,160 products, specifically for 122 products Contribution II will decrease (beneficiaries will pay less for these drugs), while for 249 products the Contribution will increase (beneficiaries will pay more for these drugs).
It is added that on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, the revised Catalogue of Medicinal Products (CPP) will be posted on the GHS website with the revised Contributions II and the change (increase/decrease) in Contribution II of medicines in relation to the contributions valid until 31/01/2024.
