A deep hole appeared on a specific road in the community of Pissouri, causing headaches and problems for residents again.
The road on Anexartisias Street near the area where the first landslide occurred has been closed to passing vehicles, so as not to endanger human lives.

Indicative are the photos obtained by Philenews, where the ground has receded to great depth. The danger is enormous, if a citizen tries to cross the road on foot and does not realize the problem. In an effort to avoid the worst, the Limassol District Administration sealed the road by placing dirt trucks.
Speaking about the new problem presented, the president of the community of Pissouri, Lazaros Lazarou, said that tomorrow engineers of the district administration are expected to come to the site to examine the gap that occurred under the roadway.
As he explained, holes have emerged in the road surface and there are obvious new signs of soil retreat. "The movement of the ground seems to cause gaps in this road," he said, adding that Anexartisias Street falls within the areas where the first landslide was observed in the core of the village. The area is adjacent to the area that was left by a landslide in 2000 and repaired in 2014 where the first works were carried out in the community.

It is also an area where rainwater flows from the core of the community. It is reminded that for some time now, projects have been carried out in the community of Pissouri concerning the removal of groundwater, sewage and monitoring of soil movements, in order to alleviate the chronic problem of subsidence. The two problematic areas are in the core of the village but also the area "Pissouri Lakes" where construction works were carried out.
As it is known, more than 30 residences located in the "Limnes" area have already been issued eviction decrees after they have been deemed unsuitable due to the receding ground.
As far as the core of the community is concerned, abandonment decrees have already been issued for at least 12 residences.
