During the execution of the works, the tangential traffic lane of the central island will be partially closed for a length of 100-200m. approximately, each time and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane. On Tuesday 20/2/2024, from 22:00 in the evening until 05:00 in the morning of the next day, on the Limassol Bypass Road, in the section between the Germasogeia roundabout and the Linoptera roundabout, overpass replacement works will be carried out information signs. During the works, the section of Parakamperiou Road between the roundabout of Germasogeia and the roundabout of Linoptera in the direction of Paphos, will be closed and the traffic flow will be through the roundabout of Germasogeia, Spyros Kyprianou Avenues (Kolonaki) and Agios Athanasios and the Linopetra roundabout.
From Wednesday 21/2/2024 until Thursday 29/2/2024, every day except the weekend, between the hours of 08:30 - 16:00, network maintenance works will be carried out by CYTA on the old Nicosia - Limassol road. During the execution of the works, a section of the highway, between the 1st exit to Ormidia and the 2nd exit to Xylofagos, will be closed to traffic simultaneously from both directions for approximately 5', twice, with the help of the Police. Between the dates 29/1/2024 – 21/3/2024 and between the hours of 20:00 in the evening and 05:30 in the morning of the following day, excluding Friday, Saturday and Sunday, road maintenance works will be carried out on the Paphos – Limassol highway (A6) and Limassol – Paphos (A6) in both traffic lanes. During the execution of the works, traffic will be diverted from adjacent exits. On the Nicosia-Limassol highway, in the section from Skarinou to Germasogeia, in the period from Wednesday 10/1/2024 to Thursday 29/2/2024, every day, excluding weekends, work will be carried out to repair safety barriers and install reflective nails / of prisms. The work will be carried out every day Monday - Friday at the Department of Skarinos - Akti Kiverniti, between the hours of 09:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. and at the Governor's Coast - Germasogeia Department during the night Monday - Thursday, between the hours of 21:00 p.m. until 05:00 am of the following day. During the works, one lane will be closed at all times and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane with appropriate signalling. Also, during the same period, repair work will be carried out on safety parapets and on the slope of the highway without affecting the traffic lane. Night works on the Limassol-Nicosia highway will also be carried out in the period 13/2/2024 – 29/2/2024, between the hours of 21:00 in the evening and 06:00 in the morning of the following day, excluding Fridays and weekends, for installation / replacement reflex nails at highway junctions. During the works, one traffic lane will be partially closed in one direction only for a length of 500m. approximately and traffic will be diverted to the other lane. On highways in the province of Larnaca, in the period 29/01/2024 – 29/03/2024 between the hours 08:30 – 14:30, every day except weekends and holidays, the Forestry Department will carry out pruning operations of the bushes on the slopes of the highways . During the works, on the Larnaca - Paralimni highway from Larnaca Airport to the Rizoelia roundabout and on the Larnaca - Kofinou highway (from both directions) part of the ramp will be closed, in sections 300 meters long each way. On the Nicosia-Larnaka, Nicosia-Limes and Nicosia-Akakia highways, reflector washing works will be carried out on the weekends of February 17-18 and February 24-25, 2024 as follows: On Saturday 17/2/2024, from 06:00 in the morning until 12:00 noon, reflector washing works will be carried out on the Nicosia-Larnaca highway on the central island in both directions up to the Athianou exit as well as on the Nicosia highway - Limassol at the height of Kornos at central islet in both directions.On Sunday 18/2/2024, from 06:00 in the morning until 12:00 noon, reflector washing operations will be carried out on the Nicosia-Limessos highway from Kalispera lights to Pentaschinos with the exception of the Kornos area. During the above works the public is requested to use the left lane of traffic and to show the necessary understanding and compliance with the temporary road markings and the instructions of the Police. On Protaras – Kavo Greko Avenue in the tourist area of Paralimni, from the intersection of the traffic lights with Perneras Avenue (Mandali) to the intersection with Dionysou Street (Flokkas Hotel Apartments), from Wednesday, December 27, 2023 and for a period of three (3 ) months, the installation of a pressure sewage pipeline will be carried out by the Paralimni Sewerage Council. During the above period, the works will be carried out in two phases. In Phase A, traffic will be diverted to secondary roads, while in Phase B, traffic will be regulated with temporary traffic lights. In Lakatamia, works will be carried out on Tseriou Avenue and Strovolou Street, from Spyrou Kyprianou Avenue to Pefkou Street, from Friday 12/5/2023 and for a period of 20 months, as part of the improvement/construction of Ippokratous, Argyroupoleos, and Department Avenues of Tseriou Avenue and Strovolou Street. At the same time, during the same period, as part of the reconstruction of Hippocrates Avenue, Themistokleous Street and Areos Avenue will be closed from their junction with Themistokleous Street to Nikias Street and Kentaurou Street respectively. In Strovolos, from Monday 19/2/2024 until Friday 1/3/2024, between the hours of 09:30 – 12:30, every day, except on weekends, in parts of the following streets of the Nicosia Urban Area, will be held maintenance works of the greenery of the central islets, by the Municipality of Strovolos: Kalamon Avenue from the roundabout with Spyros Kyprianou Avenue to the roundabout next to L/sias General Hospital (February 19-21, 2024), Limassol Avenue (old road) from the junction with Nikos Papaminas to Athalassis Street (February 22-23, 2024), Contribution of Limassol Avenue (old road) with Verginas Street (February 23, 2024), Limassol Avenue (old road) from the junction with Verginas Street to the junction with Nikos Papaminas Avenue (February 26-28, 2024), Nikos Papaminas Avenue from the roundabout with Kalamon Avenue to the entrance of Athalassa Papaminas Park (February 29, 2024 – March 1, 2024) During the works, the tangential traffic lane of the central island will be partially closed for a length of 100-200m. approximately, each time and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane. In Tseri, Nicosia province, from September 1, 2022, works will be carried out on the Road within Tseri, which will last 78 weeks and is expected to be completed by February 28, 2024. Works will be carried out within the Municipality of Tseri to upgrade the main road that passes through the Municipality. More specifically, the works will include the construction of a two-lane road (with additional clockwise lanes at the traffic lights) within the Municipality of Tseri for a length of approximately 2.5 kilometers. It also includes the construction of sections of bypass roads (K. Misiaulis, Salaminas, T. Anthia, S. Papalazarou, etc.), in a total area of approximately 600 meters, which contribute to the main road. In the project, a small roundabout will be built connecting Strovolos and Agios Georgios streets at its northern end. Along the road, parking spaces will be created on both sides to serve the commercial areas of the Municipality as well as the two Primary Schools included in the section under construction. The project also includes the construction of sidewalks, the installation of traffic lights, the undergrounding of all utilities, horizontal and vertical signage, the installation of new street lighting and other related works. Depending on each phase of the works, the relevant announcements will be issued that will describe the works to be performed as well as the corresponding traffic regulations. Also within the framework of the "Road within Tseri" Project, during the period 23/1/2024 - 26/4/2024, the eighth phase of the works is to be implemented, during which a section of Strovolou Street will remain closed, from the junction of along K. Misiauli street to the cemetery of the Holy Church of Saints Constantine and Helen. During the works of the above phase, the traffic of vehicles from Nicosia to Analyondas will be channeled through the streets Arch. Kyprianou, Thermopyla, Pentadaktilo, V. Michaelidis, Salaminos, A. Zakou, Omonoias, M. Karaoli, Th. Pieridis. Drivers heading towards Nicosia are advised to use Trioni, Achaion, Salaminos, Pentadaktylou, K. Varnali, Kouriou, Strovolou streets. In Larnaca, in the period 31/1/2024 – 15/3/2024, between the hours of 08:30 – 17:00 every day except weekends, at Famagusta Avenue, Tassos Papadopoulos, Dimitris Christofias, Spyrou Kyprianou, Alexandrou Panagoulis, Stratigo Timaya, Independence, Giannou Kranidiotis, Limassol, Nikos & Despina Pattihis, Georgiou Christodoulidis, United States of America, Artemis, Tasos Mitsopoulos and the European Union, pruning and cleaning work will be carried out on the central islets by the Municipality of Larnaca. During the works, the center island tangent lane will be closed in both directions and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane. In the province of Larnaca, on Friday 19/05/2023, the reconstruction works of the Ormidia - Xylofago road will begin, which will last for approximately 12 months, until the end of May 2024. The project is an improvement of part of the existing road that connects the community of Ormidia with the old Larnaca - Dekelia - Famagusta road. The section of the existing road that is being improved begins immediately after the exit from the residential area (near the junction with Menelaou Ludemi Street) and ends at the junction with the old Larnaca - Dekelia - Famagusta road. Also in the province of Larnaca, as part of the construction works of the "Improvement of the Ormideia - Xylofagos Road" Project, from August 28, 2023 until July 17, 2024, work will be carried out on Anexartisias Street. The road will be closed to traffic in both directions, from the junction with Menelaou Ludemi Street to the junction with the old Larnaca-Dekelia-Ammochosto road. During the works, traffic will be diverted to an existing parallel road (old Larnaca-Dekelia-Ammochosto road). The movement of vehicles and pedestrians on adjacent roads and properties will be done according to the corresponding local arrangements. In the province of Larnaca, the Larnaca-Dekelia coastal road, from the height of Athens Street in Oroklini to the Oroklini Fire Station, will be closed to traffic in both directions from 20/11/2023 until 10/5/2024 , in the framework of the construction works of the "Improvement of the Larnaca - Dekelia Coastal Road Phase C" Project. Traffic will be diverted via Mesogeiou Street and drivers are urged to use caution. Also in the province of Larnaca, from the Municipality of Aradippou, in the period 12/2/2024 – 15/3/2024, between the hours of 08:00 – 13:00, every day except weekends, at the Avenues of Eleftherias, Acropolis, Australia, Spyros Kyprianou and Greece, maintenance and beautification works will be carried out on the central islands. During the works, the tangential traffic lanes (from both directions) of the central island will be partially closed for a length of 100m. approximately and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane. In the greater area of Limassol and Paphos, from Monday 12/2/2024 and for a period of approximately 6 months, a private company will carry out works to replace outdated signalling equipment at 47 light-controlled intersections and 31 Pelican-type pedestrian crossings, with a new low-consumption type (Extra Low Voltage-ELV) with LED lamps, Pedestrian Countdown and touch-type demand system for pedestrians. The equipment replacement work at each point will be completed within one day, unless unforeseen and during the work the light-controlled junctions and pedestrian crossings will remain out of service unless it is deemed necessary to instal temporary traffic lights. The above contributions will be preceded by civil engineering works for the infrastructures. In Limassol, on the Limassol Bypass Road, in the section between the Mesa Geitonia roundabout and the Agia Phyla roundabout, on Wednesday 21/2/2024, from 22:00 in the evening until 05:00 in the morning of the next day, work will be carried out to replace highway information signs. During the works, the section of Parakamperiou Road between the Mesa Geitonia roundabout and the Agia Phyla roundabout in the direction of Paphos will be closed and traffic will be routed through the Mesa Geitonia roundabout, Archbishop Makarios Avenues C, Spyros Kyprianou and Agia Fylaxeos and the roundabout of Agia Phyla. Also on the Limassol Bypass Road, in the section between the New Port roundabout and the Agia Phyla roundabout, on Thursday 22/2/2024, from 10:00 p.m. until 05:00 a.m. the following day, replacement works of highway information signs. During the works, the section of the Bypass Road between the Neo Limanio roundabout and the Agia Phyla roundabout in the direction of Nicosia will be closed and traffic will move through the side roads under the bridge, which connect the roundabouts of Neo Limanio, Polemidia and Agia Phyla. In Germasogeia, as part of the works for the "Improvement of the Bypass Road of Germasogeia" Project, Phase A, in the period from Monday 29/1/2024 to Tuesday 30/4/2024, works will be carried out at the junction of Patron Street with Agia Paraskevi street. During the works, the section of the junction of the two roads will be closed to traffic from and to Agios Athanasios-Sfalangiotissa, while traffic from and to the Germasogeia-Foinikaria dam will be through an adjacent temporary vehicular access and will be regulated by Traffic lights. Traffic from and to the area of Agios Athanasios-Sfalangiotissa will take place via Tellyrias-Agia Paraskevi street. Also within the framework of the works for the "Improvement of the Germasogeia Bypass Road" Project, the works on the eastern part of Isabella Street from its junction with Mikis Theodorakis Street to its junction with Potamias Street, are extended until 30/4/ 2024. The section of road remains closed to traffic and traffic to and from the eastern area is via an adjacent temporary section of road that has been constructed for this purpose. As part of the construction works of Phase 1 of the Road Network of the Vassilikos Energy Center, in Mari, from March 23, 2023, on the road between the EAC substation and the Vassilikos River in Mari, north of the cement plant facilities, system construction works will be carried out sewage system and one lane will be closed to traffic. From Monday 13/11/2023 and for a period of approximately five months, work will be carried out on the construction of roundabouts - the construction of a dividing island and temporary parking spaces, road surface maintenance, the implementation of traffic management and road safety measures on Kolonaki Avenues in Agios Athanasios and Spyros Kyprianou in Germasogeia. During the works, there will be two-way traffic in one lane in each direction at all times, except when it will be necessary to close one or both lanes. In these cases the work will be carried out during the night (Monday – Thursday) or Sundays. The daily work will be carried out between the hours of 06:00 - 17:00, Sundays 06:00 - 18:00 and the night work between the hours of 21:00 until 06:00 the next day. In the period from 11/12/2023 to 5/3/2024, between the hours 08:30 - 15:00, work will be carried out to cut/prune and collect acacias and other trees from the supports and slopes along the entire length of Larnaca – Ayia Napa highway in both directions, including Junctions. During the work, the freeway shoulder will be partially closed and traffic will remain in the normal lanes without the shoulder.
