LAST PART OF THE RENOVATION WORKS AROUND THEOSKEPASTIS SQUARE, KATO PAPHOS, HAS BEGUN

The execution of the second and last part of the works of the 3rd Phase of the project "Redevelopment of Theoskepastis Square and the surrounding streets in Kato Paphos" has begun, according to an announcement by the Municipality of Paphos today, Monday, February 26.

According to Mayor Pafos, the works will affect Dionysos Street and the section of Ledas Street from its junction with Apostolou Pavlou Avenue to the Hypermarket of Papantoniou.

Specifically, until the end of April 2024, architectural renovation works will be carried out on the northern sidewalk of Poseidonos Avenue, from the intersection with Iasonos Street to the intersection with Artemisos Street, in the antiquities display area on Medousis Street in front of the Church of Panagia Theoskepastis, on the pedestrian street 2 of Alkmenis Street near the "Athina" complex and in the vicinity of the old Kato Pafos Kindergarten on Agia Anastasia Street, as well as on Dionysos Street and Ledas Street from the roundabout of Apostolos Pavlos Avenue to the Papantoniou Hypermarket.

The Municipality of Paphos also announces that the safe access of pedestrians, affected residents and visitors to residences and businesses will be ensured throughout the execution of the works.

In addition, it is stated that the vehicles that must move from Limanaki to Poseidonos Avenue will be directed to their destination via Ledas, Alkmenis, Agia Anastasia, Agios Antonios and Iasonos streets. Ledas Street will operate as a one-way street from Poseidonos Avenue to Agia Anastasia Street. On Poseidonos Avenue, only the movement of vehicles will be allowed in the direction of Geroskipou towards Limanaki and it will be in one direction. The vehicles moving from Posidonos Avenue to Limanaki will be directed through Artemisos Street to Agia Anastasia Street and through Agios Agapiticos Street to Agios Anargyron Avenue and then, through Apostolou Pavlou Avenue, they will reach their destination.

The Municipality of Paphos assures that every possible effort is being made to reduce the suffering of both drivers and pedestrians, the announcement concludes.
