Police arrested today the fourth suspect wanted for the many burglaries that have occurred in recent months in the city and district of Paphos. He is a 44-year-old Romanian man whom authorities consider to be the mastermind of the ring, three other members of which have been arrested and are already in eight-day detention.

Police believe they have dismantled a ring that systematically engaged in burglaries and thefts of church premises in Paphos after the arrest of the four. These are Romanian residents of Pafos, one of whom is a minor, specifically 16 years old, while the other two are aged 20 and 21.

Authorities appear to have linked the foreigners to at least 15 cases of burglary and theft from churches and chapels in many parts of the Paphos district. For the most part, the perpetrators obtained sums of money and ecclesiastical objects from these actions.
