The port authority proceeds with the creation of a marina in the port area of Latchi. The cost of the investment exceeds €50 million but the port authority secured the green light from the local authority for the construction of shops and offices on land, of more than 4,000 sq m which will be rented.
The decision of the city council was taken at a recent plenary session. In addition to recreational areas, the port authority will create 350 berths for large vessels as well as anchorage for cruise ships. The project is expected to boost tourism and economics in the area and will create several new jobs.
The project is expected to be ready in 2026. According to the decision of the Cyprus Ports Authority, the port basin and jetties of the Port will be expanded to create infrastructure for new berths for vessels. The project includes marine works, new quays and breakwaters.
