The public prosecutors of all the Courts of Cyprus are absent from their duties following the new criminal act against a public prosecutor.
This move is also a sign of support for the public prosecutor of Pafos, after the arson of her vehicle.
Following this development, all trials in the District Courts and some cases in the Assize Courts are expected to be postponed.
The new criminal act has again caused upset, fear and concern among public prosecutors who feel defenceless in the face of criminal elements.
The fake crime is the third recorded in the Paphos district.
It is recalled that on December 21, a high-power explosive device exploded at the home of a 58-year-old public prosecutor in Anavargos, resulting in her minor injury from glass fragments that broke into a kitchen door.
The first attack on justice officials was recorded in 2016 when a bomb exploded outside the home of a public prosecutor in the Emba area.
