The 49-year-old, who was targeted by a gunman in Aglantzia, returned from abroad but insists on not giving a statement to investigators.
"F" reports that the victim of the attempted murder committed more than a week ago, returning from abroad where he had left the day after the crime, was called again to the offices of the ICF Nicosia to give some information regarding the case. However, he expressed the position that he did not want to give a statement since he did not see the perpetrator and so the investigations are essentially in the same place.
Authorities have some clues about the type of pistol used by the would-be killer, but it is surprising that no one saw him even though he went to the scene with his face uncovered, wearing only a hood.
The attempted murder had been committed in the early afternoon on busy Kyrenia Avenue in Aglantzia outside a kiosk.
Despite investigations by the authorities, no independent testimony has been found as to whether he was stalking his prospective victim, however, this is considered certain and this is why he acted when he got the opportunity when the 49-year-old stopped his vehicle.
This criminal act, together with the arson attack against the public prosecutor in Paphos the next day, was the reason for taking measures to combat crime.

Today's proceedings before the Permanent Assize Court of Limassol have been postponed for the four defendants of the murder of 55-year-old Thanasis Kalogeropoulos committed on the morning of October 30, 2023 in a parking lot of a seaside restaurant in Limassol.
The defendants' lawyers requested that the proceedings be postponed as the defendants' request that the hearing be held at the Assize Court of Nicosia and not Limassol is pending at the Supreme Court, due to the tension and harassment recorded during the detention process. Following this development, the Court set the case for response to the indictment on February 8 at 9 a.m.
The representative of the Prosecution requested that all four defendants remain in custody, with the lawyers stating that they reserve their right to object to the request for detention of their clients. It should be noted that the proceedings took place in the presence of strong police forces, while friends and relatives of Kalogeropoulos were present in the Assize Court room.
The aggravated indictment includes the offences of conspiracy to murder, premeditated murder, possession, transport and use of a category A and B firearm, possession, transport and use of explosives, arson of a vehicle and theft. The 12 charges relate to the three while the 13th relates only to the 22-year-old for the offence of aiding and abetting after committing. It is noted that the charges include the offence of Article 20 of the Penal Code Cap. 154, which concerns instigation.
