Two persons, aged 28 and 26, were arrested yesterday by the Police, in the district of Paphos, for flagrant offences, after burglary tools, knives and property, believed to be the product of theft, were found in their possession.
Specifically, around 7am yesterday, information was received by the Police about a possible burglary at a house in Polis Chrysochous. Members of the Police immediately went to the area, where they located and stopped for inspection two persons, who were wandering near the specific residence.
They were found to be a 28-year-old and a 26-year-old, in whose possession various burglary tools and a knife were found after a search. Various pieces of gold and jewellery were also found, for which the two did not give satisfactory explanations as to how they came into their possession.
As a result, the 28-year-old and the 26-year-old were arrested for the offences of stabbing and illegal possession of property and burglary tools. Later judicial arrest warrants were issued against them, under which they were arrested and detained.
It should also be noted that at a short distance, from the point where the two arrested were located, a car was also found, which had been reported to the Police as stolen yesterday morning.

Residents of various areas of Paphos complain that shotgun pellets hit their homes.
Relevant reports and complaints to the police were made by residents of the villages of Konia, Kissonerga, Tala and Emba. Residents of these areas complain that with the advent of the new year some used shotguns, shooting in the air.
They obviously wanted to celebrate, but they upset some of their fellow citizens.

A quantity of firecrackers and smoke bombs was confiscated yesterday by the police, whose members proceeded to arrest a 21-year-old man.
Specifically, around 5pm yesterday, members of the Police stopped a car moving on a road in the Larnaca district for inspection. During a subsequent search, 40 factory firecrackers and seven smoke canisters were found and confiscated.
The 21-year-old driver of the vehicle was arrested for a flagrant offence. He was taken to a police station, where he was questioned in writing. He was subsequently released pending laboratory tests to be carried out on the seized items.
