Kissonerga has been awarded for 2023 with the 'Green Community of Cyprus' award in two categories by the Cyprus Centre for Environmental Research and Education (CYCERE).
According to an announcement by the Community Council of Kissonerga, following a relevant competition and evaluation conducted by a Scientific Evaluation Committee, in the presence of Environment Commissioner Maria Panayiotou and representatives of all collaborating bodies, Kissonerga has been awarded the 'Green Community of Cyprus' award for the year 2023 in two categories.
Specifically, in the category Culture and Environment for the project "Kissonerga Coastal Pedestrian Street" and in the category Sustainable Tourism for the project "Network of Nature Study Routes".
The award ceremony of Kissonerga will take place at a special official ceremony at the Presidential Palace and the presentation of the Award and the Green Flag will be made by the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides.
The President of the Community of Kissonerga, George Stylianou, stated that the award of Kissonerga is a great honor for the community and its citizens, since it is the result of coordinated efforts and policies implemented with its strategy by the Community Council of Kissonerga in recent years, having as its primary goal the upgrading of the quality of life of the citizens of the community.
