One of the most internationally famous beaches in Cyprus and the most popular in the Paphos district, Coral Bay in Peyia, confirmed this summer that it is the undisputed king in popularity and preferences of bathers.
Being ready in terms of infrastructure and services very early thanks to the timely interventions of the municipal authority, the beach of Pegeia recorded in the summer of 2023, numbers unapproachable for the other areas of the province in terms of traffic and revenue.
From very early on, the municipal authority carried out all the cleaning works of the huge sandy beach and the surrounding area, while it also carried out all the improvement works that allow the Coral Bay to operate smoothly during the tourist season, thus achieving to make it for yet another year the most popular beach for bathers in the province.
In the same area, meanwhile, an enrichment project began some time ago that will contribute to the further development of Coral Bay and the wider area of the Municipality of Pegeia: The largest coastal pedestrian street in Cyprus will soon be a fact, since the procedures for its creation are progressing, with the announcement of the tender for the project, according to the Mayor of Peyia.
Marinos Lambrou told "F" that the coastal pedestrian street of Pegeia will be an urban project costing 2.5 million euros. The first phase of the project, he said, will be two kilometers long and will be part of the wider coastal pedestrian street that starts from the Marina area of Potima and will end at the port of Agios Georgios in Peyia, covering a total distance of 14 kilometers.
The completion of the project is estimated in 18 months, concluded the Mayor of Pegeia.
