CHRISTMAS GALA CONCERT with Limassol Municipality Symphony Orchestra

Limassol Municipality Symphony Orchestra for the second year in a row, presents its Christmas Gala concert, under the musical and artistic direction of maestro Francis Guy at the Pattihio Municipal Theater in Limassol.
The program includes the most popular festive pieces of classical music. The concert will begin with “Troika” from Prokofiev’s “Lieutenant Kijé” film suite and will be followed by Aram’s Khachaturian splendid waltz from the powerful “Masquerade” ballet. An important place in the program is given to the “Waltz of Hope”, by our Cypriot composer Stelios Pisis. Of course, this concert could not miss the beloved second waltz from Tchaikovsky’s “Swan Lake” as well as the splendid “Tritsch-Tratsch-Polka” by Johann Strauss II.
What makes this year’s Christmas Gala special and even more festive is the appearance of the 15-year-old pianist Anna Avramidou, who a month ago made every Cypriot music lover feel proud, since she was the Grand Prix Winner of the «6th International Franz Liszt Competition for Young Pianists» in Weimar, Germany. Anna will perform Edvard Grieg’s legendary Concerto for Piano and Orchestra.
