The Health Insurance Organisation (HIO) is upgrading home general nursing services for beneficiaries undergoing dialysis, as well as for beneficiaries with specific chronic diseases, catheters and stomata, as of today, November 1, 2023.
As stated in an announcement, the Organization, in the context of strengthening the services provided, has increased the number of home general nursing services covered by the GHS for these patients.
It is noted that the above services continue to be provided, provided that a valid referral from the attending physician is available and concern beneficiaries who have been determined by their Personal Doctor as bedridden.
The above upgrade is part of the continuous re-evaluation of the services provided by the GHS, in an effort to diversify services to beneficiaries in need of increased care.
