The decision was taken today by the teaching association of the Technical School, closing the door on the scenario of the transfer of these students to another technical school in the Pafos district.

Among the six students is the protagonist of the latest serious incident with the throwing of a chair at the head of a teacher, whom he seriously injured.

The six children are all Greek Cypriots and, according to the school's authorities, have starred in several incidents of misconduct in the recent past, including a fight with Syrian students.

Under laws and regulations, the guardians of the six students have the right to lodge an appeal with the Ministry of Education within 48 hours for the lifting of the penalty of permanent expulsion.

According to the same regulations, if the penalty remains, students will be able to continue their studies outside the district of Pafos, which will obviously cause serious practical and financial problems for parents.

Yesterday's bloody incidents in Pournara between African and Syrian migrants took place for a pierced ball. Police made 33 arrests, 26 Nigerians and seven Syrians. The former will be deported to their countries and detention and deportation warrants have already been issued, and Syrians will be brought to court as defendants in the fighting.

From Madrid, Interior Minister Constantinos Ioannou stressed that we are strict with those who do not respect the hospitality provided by the Republic of Cyprus, adding that since the incidents broke out the day before yesterday, he gave instructions to immediately examine the asylum application of all those arrested and be rejected, even if they are entitled to asylum, on the grounds that they were involved in incidents.

For this purpose, additional asylum examiners have been transferred to Pournara, with instructions to complete the asylum examination by yesterday afternoon and those involved to be transferred out of Pournara. As the Minister mentioned, according to information from the Police, they will probably be transferred to Mennogeia to begin the deportation procedures.

According to police spokesman Christos Andreou, the 33 people arrested after testimonies are facing cases of rioting and fighting. Eight people were injured in the fight, who were taken to hospital for tests and discharged. In a statement yesterday, Deputy Government Spokesman Yiannis Antoniou also clarified that the suspects in the incidents did not include people of Syrian origin.

The two warring sides quarrelled over a soccer ball that had been drilled at noon during a game. As a result, stones were thrown and the situation derailed.

Also, as stated yesterday by the representative of the Management Company of "Pournara" Stefanos Spaneas, at some point the two warring sides (Africans and Syrians) quarrelled over a soccer ball that had been pierced during a game. As a result, stones were thrown and the situation derailed. "There are places with stones, dirt and gravel in the center and from there they used them as weapons. At some point there was a great tension, the logic of mass worked. On the one hand, it was Africans who are in the minority at the moment in the Centre which now has 1095 people. There has been an increase lately, from another group of inputs."

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Social Welfare Marilena Evangelou said in a post that "after the incidents between unaccompanied minors in Paphos, I convened a wide meeting." As he wrote at the meeting, it was decided that "the damage caused by the incidents will now be covered by those involved in the incidents and that the necessary movements will be made to avoid the recurrence of incidents."

NB - 28 deportation orders have been issued.
