According to a joint announcement by the trade unions SEK, PEO, PASYDY, DEOK, PASYKI and PASYNO, all staff of the State Health Services Organization (OKYPY) are united and determined to proceed with strike measures on October 25, 2023 and escalate them if needed.
It is noted that in joint assemblies of all SHSO staff, which have been held in all districts in the presence of the leaders of the Trade Unions SEK, PEO, DEOK, PASYDY, PASYNO and PASYKI, information was given and it was decided to hold an 8-hour strike on October 25, 2023 between the hours of 7:00am -3:00pm.
It is added that all SHSO staff of all professions will participate in the strike.
According to the announcement of the trade unions, it has been decided to escalate the strike measures in case the SHSO continues not to accept the conclusion of a collective labour agreement, similar to the existing contracts of the wider public sector, for staff hired under personal contracts and does not proceed with recruitment to meet the permanent needs in all professions. whether they concern Medical, Nursing, Paramedical, Administrative or Hourly Paid Staff.
"It must be understood that insufficient staffing prevents the SHSO from carrying out its important role in providing quality health services to society through public hospitals. It has been proven by the Joint Technical Committee of the Trade Unions and the SHSO that the cost of the collective agreement submitted by the above Trade Unions does not pose a problem of financial viability to the Organization. It is a finding that the SHSO does not recognize the contribution and the important role played by its staff and many employees resign from their employment with the Organization," the statement added.
It is noted that the measure of the strike is not pleasant for anyone.
