SEVERE WEATHER ON THE WAY - YELLOW WARNING

It will come into effect from 11.00 in the morning until 17.00 in the afternoon. the Yellow Warning issued by the Meteorological Service. The Yellow Warning is expected to affect mainly the mountainous and eastern half of the island, while hail is also expected to fall.

The weather forecast:

Unstable air mass affects the area.

Today the weather will initially be partly cloudy and isolated showers are likely, mainly in the west and north but will gradually become mostly cloudy and at times localised showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected. Hail is likely to fall in a thunderstorm. The winds will blow southwest to northwest, weak to moderate 3 to 4 Beaufort and in the afternoon on the windward coast, up to strong 5 Beaufort. The sea will be a little turbulent but in the afternoon in the south it will be turbulent. The temperature will rise around 27 degrees in the interior and coasts and 17 degrees in the higher mountains.

In the evening the weather will be partly cloudy and light rain is likely to fall locally. The winds will blow mainly northwest, weak to moderate 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be a little turbulent but temporarily in the windward it will be turbulent. The temperature will drop to 17 degrees in the interior, around 19 degrees on the coast and 9 degrees in the higher mountains.

On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday the weather will be partly cloudy and in the afternoon hours isolated showers are likely, mainly in the mountains.

The temperature will rise on Monday and will hover at the same levels on Tuesday and Wednesday, which are close to climate averages.
