A completely new picture has recently been seen by commuters on the Paphos North Bypass, the main road leading to the Paphos-Limassol motorway. After the great project of removing decades of illegalities and cleaning open spaces, the busy road is also changing operation, since large-scale commercial developments that remained unfinished due to the economic crisis and the pandemic, have recently begun to restart.
Already, the change is visible in the sections next to the avenue towards Geroskipou, which have been cleaned recently on the initiative of the Municipality of Pafos and after it had been judged that the illegalities that prevailed for years had exceeded all limits, while at the same time projects on private developments that remained unfinished for years, have now begun to proceed. resulting in an apparent increase in commercial activity in the area.
The works for the movement of waste materials in the area of Limnaria near the Northern Bypass of Geroskipou, were carried out after illegalities that had taken place about 30 years ago, resulting in a change in the course of the waters. The purpose of the works was both to restore the natural environment in the area, and to ensure that no damage would be caused in the future to the major project of the Northern Bypass, since it was found that in the riverbed warehouses of 700 square meters had been erected and artfully camouflaged.
At the same time, after the commercial exploitation of the old Orphanidis mall, multiplexes in the same area come to life with completion works and the first leases or shops have already appeared in them.
