In the period between 2/10/2023 – 30/11/2023, every day except weekends, between the hours of 08:30 – 14:30, on the highways Larnaca – Kofinou and Larnaca – Rizoelia Airport, in both directions, pruning works will be carried out and watering trees on the side of the road, by the Forestry Department. During the works, the motorway shoulder will be partially closed, 300 meters long at a time, without lane closures.
Between the dates 02/10/2023 – 19/10/2023, every day, Monday to Thursday, between the hours of 08:30 – 15:30, on the following highways of Larnaca District, watering works of the plants of the central islands will be carried out, from the Department of Forestry: (a) on the Larnaca – Kofinou highway, heading towards Kofinou, (b) on the Larnaca – Nicosia highway, from the Rizoelia roundabout to Nicosia, and (c) on the Paralimni – Larnaca highway, from the Rizoelia roundabout to Larnaca Airport. During the execution of the works, the tangential traffic lane of the central island will be partially closed, for a length of 1500m. approximately, each time and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane. On the road from the Tsangaridis traffic lights to Anthoupoli to the Anthoupoli roundabout and on the highway (A9) from the Anthoupoli roundabout to the Kokkinotrimithia roundabout, from Monday 16/10/2023 to Friday 27/10/2023, between the hours of 09:00 – 14:00, maintenance work will be carried out on the greenery of the central islands, by the Department of Forestry. During the execution of the works, the tangential traffic lane of the central island will be partially closed in both directions for a length of 100-200m. approximately, each time and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane. On the Pera Choriou to Analyondas road beyond Kotsiatis (E102), in the period 16/10/2023 – 31/10/2023, During the execution of the works, one traffic lane will be closed in a section of approximately 100 meters and the traffic will be diverted to the other traffic lane, using temporary traffic lights. Asphalt paving works will be carried out on the Tembria - Galata road (E908) in the period 16/10/2023 - 31/10/2023, excluding weekends, between the hours of 07:00 - 18:00. During the work, one lane of the road will remain closed and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane. Also in Strovolos, in parts of Kalamon, Limassol (old street), and Nikos Papaminas avenues, from Monday 16/10/2023 until Wednesday 25/10/2023, excluding weekends, between the hours of 09:00 – 17:00: 00, maintenance work will be carried out on the greenery of the central islets, by the Municipality of Strovolos. During the works, the tangential traffic lane of the central island will be partially closed from both directions for a length of 100-200m. approximately, each time and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane. As part of the "Road within Tseri" Project, as part of the 6th phase of the works, in the period 17/10/2023 - 31/1/2024, a section of Strovolou Street will be closed from its junction with Hydras Street to its junction with Pentelis Street. During the above phase, traffic from and to Nicosia will be diverted to Pentelis, Veroia and Archiepiskopou Kyprianou streets. For the above traffic detour there will be appropriate temporary markings, which drivers should follow. On the Limassol-Paphos highway, by the Paramali Interchange, in the period 18/9/2023 – 27/10/2023, excluding weekends, between the hours of 09:00 – 17:00, vegetation removal work will be carried out on the raised central island of the highway by a private contractor. During the works, the right lanes of traffic will be closed in both directions of the highway for a length of 1000m. and traffic will be diverted to the right lanes.On the Nicosia-Larnaka highway, from Monday 9/10/2023 until Thursday 19/10/2023, excluding Fridays and weekends, between the hours of 09:00 - 15:00, from the junction with the Nicosia - Limassol highway until the Lymbia junction, watering of the plants of the central islets will be carried out by the Department of Forestry. During the works, the tangential traffic lane of the central island will be partially closed, for a length of 1500m. about every time and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
In the wider area of Larnaca and Famagusta from Wednesday 06/09/2023 and for a period of approximately 4 months, a private company will carry out works to replace outdated signalling equipment at 33 light-controlled junctions and 12 Pelican-type pedestrian crossings, with a new low-consumption type ( Extra Low Voltage-ELV) with LED lamps, Pedestrian Countdown and touch-type demand system for pedestrians. The equipment replacement work at each point will be completed within one day, unless unforeseen, and during the work the light-controlled intersections and pedestrian crossings will remain out of service unless it is deemed necessary to install temporary traffic lights. At the above intersections, preceded by civil engineering works for the infrastructure. In the wider area of Larnaca and Famagusta, from 06/09/2023 the replacement of obsolete signalling equipment at 33 light-controlled junctions and 12 pedestrian crossings, with a new type of low consumption (Extra Low Voltage-ELV) with LED lamps, remaining time counting system, continues from 06/09/2023 (Pedestrian Countdown) and touch-type demand system for pedestrians. The equipment replacement work at each point will be completed within one day, unless unforeseen, and during the work the light-controlled junctions and pedestrian crossings will remain out of service unless it is deemed necessary that temporary traffic lights will be installed. During the week 16/10/2023 – 20/10/2023, works will be carried out at the junctions / pedestrian crossings: · Artemis Avenue (Pedestrian Crossing) · L. Sadama / R. Santi Ave. (Traffic Lights) · Sp. Kyprianou Avenue / P. Valdaseridis (Traffic Lights) · Artemis Avenue (Pedestrian Crossing) · G. Kranidioti Avenue / Hamit Bey (Traffic Lights) In Lakatamia, works will be carried out on Tseriou Avenue and Strovolou Street, from Spyrou Kyprianou Avenue to Pefkou Street, from Friday 12/5/2023 and for a period of 20 months, as part of the improvement/construction of Ippokratous, Argyroupoleos, and Department Avenues of Tseriou Avenue and Strovolou Street. At the same time, during the same period, as part of the reconstruction of Hippocrates Avenue, Themistokleous Street and Areos Avenue will be closed from their junction with Themistokleous Street to Nikias Street and Kentaurou Street respectively. In the province of Nicosia, at the Tseri bypass (Halepiano road), from Saturday May 6, 2023, from 7.00 in the morning and for a period of six (6) months, works will be carried out at the junction with the road under construction that will join the Perimetriko Motorway. The traffic lanes will be moved slightly south for a period of 3 months and then further north for another 3 months. In Tseri, Nicosia province, from September 1, 2022, works will be carried out on the Road within Tseri, which will last 78 weeks and is expected to be completed by February 28, 2024. Works will be carried out within the Municipality of Tseri to upgrade the main road that passes through the Municipality. More specifically, the works will include the construction of a two-lane road (with additional clockwise lanes at the traffic lights) within the Municipality of Tseri for a length of approximately 2.5 kilometers. It also includes the construction of sections of bypass roads (K. Misiaulis, Salaminas, T. Anthia, S. Papalazarou, etc.), in a total area of approximately 600 meters, which contribute to the main road. In the project, a small roundabout will be built connecting Strovolos and Agios Georgios streets at its northern end. Along the road, parking spaces will be created on both sides to serve the commercial areas of the Municipality as well as the two Primary Schools included in the project. The project also includes the construction of sidewalks, the installation of traffic lights, the undergrounding of all utilities, horizontal and vertical signage, the installation of new street lighting and other related works.
