PASYDY's Prison Personnel Branch decided to hold a protest next Monday, September 11, with a two-hour work stoppage from 9:30 to 11:30 and a gathering outside the Prison (at the Gate) during Thursday's extraordinary General Assembly.
In the announcement, the industry, after mentioning that the recent incident of what it says is the unfair suspension of another prison guard, touches on problems for which "the Guild has been shouting for years", including issues of understaffing, staff advancement, overcrowding and working conditions in prisons, calls on all staff to be present.
