The barometric low Elias, centered in the southern Ionian Sea, affects Greece, while in the area of Cyprus there is weak low pressure. Dilute dust will be suspended in the atmosphere from time to time.
Today, after the dissipation of the local low cloud or even sparse fog, the weather will become mostly clear. After noon, locally increased clouds will develop and isolated rain or even isolated brief thunderstorms are expected, mainly in mountainous areas south of Troodos.
The winds will blow initially variable, weak, 3 Beaufort, gradually becoming mainly southwest to northwest, weak to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort and transiently on the southwest coast in the afternoon until strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to a little turbulent, however later in the southwest and locally in the north it will become a little turbulent. The temperature will rise around 36 degrees in the interior, around 32 in the southeast, east and north coasts, around 31 on the rest of the coasts and around 27 degrees in the higher mountains.
Tonight the weather will be mostly clear. The winds will blow mainly west to northwest and locally to northeast, weak, 3 Beaufort. The sea will be calm until a little turbulent.
The temperature will drop to around 20 degrees in the interior, around 22 on the west coast, around 21 on the rest of the coasts and around 17 degrees in the higher mountains.
On Thursday the weather will initially be mostly clear, but after noon clouds will develop that are expected to give isolated rain or thunderstorms, mainly in the mountains and the eastern half of the island.
On Friday and Saturday, temporarily increased clouds are likely to give isolated rain, mainly in the east, while the area will be affected by a strong westerly wind current.
The temperature on Thursday is not expected to change significantly, remaining above average climatic values. On Friday, however, the temperature will fall, mainly in the interior and in the mountains, remaining at about the same levels on Saturday, which will be close to average climatic values.
