A 56-year-old man has been released on parole and charged with killing a dog after setting a trap.
In his statements, the spokesperson of the Pafos Police Authority and Head of the Pafos ICF, Michalis Nicolaou, said that the 56-year-old appeared on Wednesday before the Pafos District Court where he was charged before a Court.
The court set the start of the hearing on October 4 and ordered that the 56-year-old be released on conditions such as signing a personal bail of €20,000 and reporting twice a week to the central police station.
According to Mr. Nicolaou, on Sunday at 19:30 a 30-year-old woman reported to the police station that she had found her dog dead from a trap.
From examinations carried out by the Pafos Police, Mr. Nicolaou told CNA, testimony was obtained against a 56-year-old man who had allegedly installed the illegal wire trap resulting in the complainant's wandering dog finding death.
An autopsy was performed on the dog, Mr. Nicolaou continued, and various documents were received.
