Between 9/9/2023 – 15/10/2023, between the hours of 07:00 – 18:00, on the Nicosia-Limassol highway (A1) beyond the Zygio interchange and the Choirokotia-Kalavasos interchange as well as on the Nicosia-Larnaca highway ( A2) despite the Lymbia junction, a private company will carry out topographic mapping of the junctions. The topographic works will be carried out on the shoulder of the highway without any impact on traffic. On the Paphos-Limassol highway, from Monday 18/9/2023 until Friday 29/9/2023, (excluding weekends), between the hours of 08:00 - 15:00, cleaning works will be carried out along the shoulder. During the works, the right lane will be partially closed and traffic will be diverted to the left lane. On the Limassol-Paphos highway, despite the Paramali Interchange, in the period 18/9/2023 – 27/10/2023, excluding weekends, between the hours of 09:00 – 17:00, vegetation removal work will be carried out on the elevated central island of the highway by a private contractor. During the works, the right lanes of traffic will be closed in both directions of the highway for a length of 1000m. and traffic will be diverted to the right lanes. On the Nicosia-Limassol highway, in the period 18/9/2023 – 12/10/2023, between the hours of 21:00 in the evening and 06:00 in the morning of the following day, excluding Fridays and weekends, work will be carried out to replace reflective nails and road safety barriers. During the works, one traffic lane will be partially closed in one direction only for a length of 1000m. approximately and traffic will be diverted to the other lane. In the wider area of Larnaca and Famagusta from Wednesday 06/09/2023 and for a period of approximately 4 months, a private company will carry out works to replace outdated signalling equipment at 33 light-controlled junctions and 12 Pelican-type pedestrian crossings, with a new low-consumption type ( Extra Low Voltage-ELV) with LED lamps, Pedestrian Countdown and touch-type demand system for pedestrians. The equipment replacement work at each point will be completed within one day, unless unforeseen, and during the work the light-controlled intersections and pedestrian crossings will remain out of service unless it is deemed necessary to install temporary traffic lights. At the above intersections, preceded by civil engineering works for the infrastructure. In Lakatamia, works will be carried out on Tseriou Avenue and Strovolou Street, from Spyrou Kyprianou Avenue to Pefkou Street, from Friday 12/5/2023 and for a period of 20 months, as part of the improvement/construction of Ippokratous, Argyroupoleos and Sektos Avenues of Tseriou Avenue and Strovolou Street. At the same time, during the same period, as part of the reconstruction of Hippocrates Avenue, Themistokleous Street and Areos Avenue will be closed from their junction with Themistokleous Street to Nikias Street and Kentaurou Street respectively. In the province of Nicosia, at the Tseri bypass (Halepiano road), from Saturday May 6, 2023, from 7.00 in the morning and for a period of six (6) months, works will be carried out at the junction with the road under construction that will join the Perimetriko Motorway. Traffic lanes will be moved slightly south for a period of 3 months and then further north for a period of another 3 months.
In Tseri, Nicosia province, from September 1, 2022, works will be carried out on the Road within Tseri, which will last 78 weeks and is expected to be completed by February 28, 2024. Works will be carried out within the Municipality of Tseri to upgrade the main road that passes through the Municipality. More specifically, the works will include the construction of a two-lane road (with additional clockwise lanes at the traffic lights) within the Municipality of Tseri for a length of approximately 2.5 kilometers. It also includes the construction of sections of bypass roads (K. Misiaulis, Salaminas, T. Anthia, S. Papalazarou, etc.), in a total area of approximately 600 meters, which contribute to the main road. In the project, a small roundabout will be built connecting Strovolos and Agios Georgios streets at its northern end. Along the road, parking spaces will be created on both sides to serve the commercial areas of the Municipality as well as the two Primary Schools included in the project. The project also includes the construction of sidewalks, the installation of traffic lights, the undergrounding of all utilities, horizontal and vertical signage, the installation of new street lighting and other related works. Depending on each phase of the works, the relevant announcements will be issued that will describe the works to be performed as well as the corresponding traffic regulations. Also within the framework of the "Road within Tseri" Project, in the period from June 21, 2023 to September 29, 2023, the fifth phase of the works will be implemented and a section of Theodosi Pieridis Street will be closed from its junction with Protomagias Street to its junction with Michael Karaoli street. During the above phase, traffic from Nicosia to Marki and vice versa will be diverted to Salaminos, Filias, Amathustos and Analyondas streets. In addition, from Nicosia to Halepianes and vice versa, traffic will be channeled through Salaminos, Anexartisias and Tevkrou Anthia streets. For the above traffic regulations, there will be appropriate temporary markings. In Larnaca, the Municipality of Livadia will carry out works on A. Stylianou and Alexandrou Panagouli Avenues, in the period 28/8/2023 – 29/9/2023, between the hours of 08:00 – 15:00, every day except weekends, for replacement water supply system in the central islands of the avenues. During the works, on A. Stylianou Avenue from the Intercollege roundabout to the Livadia roundabout and on Alexandrou Panagouli Avenue from the Technical School roundabout to the Agios Savvas church, the lane adjacent to the works will be closed from both sides directions and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane. On the Larnaca-Dekelia coastal road, also as part of the construction works of the "Improvement of the Larnaca-Dekelia Coastal Road Phase C" Project, works will continue to be carried out at a point on the road despite the Larnaca Maritime Club in both directions until October 10, 2023 and traffic will be diverted to Navarinou Street for 650m. approximately, until Athens Street. In the province of Larnaca, as part of the construction works of the "Improvement of the Larnaca - Dekelia Coastal Road Phase C" Project, works will be carried out on the Larnaca - Dekelia coastal road despite the Larnaca Marine Club in both directions, from September 8, 2023 until 10 December 2023. The road will be closed from the Larnaca Maritime Club roundabout to the height of Dramas Street in Livadia. Traffic will be diverted to Navarinou Street through the Larnaca Maritime Club roundabout and Michalaki Karaoli, Ellados, Navarinou and Drama streets in the Municipality of Livadia. Part of Navarinou Street as well as the entire Drama Street will be one-way. Drivers are urged to use caution. Also in the province of Larnaca, on Friday 19/05/2023, the reconstruction works of the Ormidia - Xylofago road will begin, which will last for approximately 12 months, until the end of May 2024. The Project is an improvement of a part of the existing road that connects the community Ormideia with the old Larnaca - Dekelia - Famagusta road. The section of the existing road that is being improved begins immediately after the exit from the residential area (near the junction with Menelaou Ludemi Street) and ends at the junction with the old road Larnaca – Dekelia – Famagusta. Also in the province of Larnaca, on the old Athienou-Avdellero-Aradippou road, in the period 18/9/2023 – 29/9/2023, every day except weekends, between the hours 07:00 – 16:00, excavation and construction of wells will be carried out . During the works, the shoulder of the road from Athienou to Aradippou in the direction from Athienou to Aradippou will be partially closed. In some parts of the road where the embankment is narrow or wide traffic control will be done with a STOP & GO system. Also in the province of Larnaca, as part of the construction works of the "Improvement of the Ormideia - Xylofagos Road" Project, from August 28, 2023 until July 17, 2024, work will be carried out on Anexartisias Street. The road will be closed to traffic in both directions, from the junction with Menelaou Ludemi Street to the junction with the old Larnaca-Dekelia-Ammochosto road. During the works, traffic will be diverted to an existing parallel road (old Larnaca-Dekelia-Ammochosto road). The movement of vehicles and pedestrians on adjacent roads and properties will be done according to the corresponding local arrangements. On the road Kornos - Delikipo - Lefkara, in the period 4/9/2023 - 2/10/2023, every day except Sunday, between the hours of 06:00 - 17:00, water pipeline installation works will be carried out by the Water Development Department. During the above period, part of the road will be partially closed, from its junction with the old Nicosia-Limesos road and in the direction of Kornos, approximately 100 meters long each time and a total length of 900 meters, and traffic will be using traffic light markings. In the district of Paphos, the road Aspro Potamos (borders of the State Forest) - Toxeutras in the Akamas National Forest Park is still closed, due to improvement works on the road network. The public, to avoid inconvenience but also for safety reasons, is invited to avoid using the road in question and to use the roads that lead from the communities of Inia, Arodon and Kathika to the Park. In particular, those who will visit Lara should use the "Inia-Lara" road and those who will visit Avakas the "Pano Arodes-Avakas" road. Land owners, farmers, breeders and other professionals operating in the area can use the "Pegia-Osia Matrona-Avakas" road. On the Nicosia-Troodos road, from Tuesday 6/6/2023 and for a period of approximately 6 months, as part of the construction of the Astromeritis-Evrycho highway, retaining walls will be carried out along the Nicosia-Troodos highway in the Koutrafa Community, in the Koronia area. Traffic on the Nicosia – Troodos highway will be conducted through a bypass road parallel to the existing road. In Limassol, on Ellados Street, near Tzamouda, up to its junction with Gladstonos Street, works will be carried out, as part of the Great Flood Protection Project of the Center of Limassol. The work is expected to last until Friday, September 29. During the works, temporary traffic arrangements will be in place and the public is asked to be patient and obey the temporary road markings. In the district of Limassol, in a part of Olymbou street in Platres, during the period 18/9/2023 – 10/11/2023, between the hours 07:00 – 15:30, construction works of a retaining wall and a rainwater channel will be carried out by a private contractor Company. During the works, the following arrangements will apply. (a) During the period 18/9/2023 - 2/10/2023, part of Olympo Street will be closed and traffic will be through Spyrou Kyprianou Street and the secondary road network. (b) In the period 3/10/2023 - 10/11/2023, one of the traffic lanes of Olympou Street will be closed for a length of 120m. approximately and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane, with alternating traffic management with temporary traffic lights. Also in the district of Limassol, on a section of the road Limassol - Agros, by the village of Gerasa, in the period 18/9/2023 - 12/12/2023, between the hours 07:00 - 15:30, construction works of retaining walls will be carried out and excavation of slopes by a private Contracting Company. During the above period, one of the two traffic lanes of the road will be closed for a length of 120m. approximately and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane, with alternating traffic management with temporary traffic lights. On the Malias-Arsos road, also in the province of Limassol, during the period 30/8/2023 – 20/10/2023, between the hours of 07:00-16:00, a private company will carry out construction works of retaining walls. During the works, one traffic lane will be closed for a length of 100m. approximately and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane using temporary traffic lights. As part of the construction works of Phase 1 of the Road Network of the Vassilikos Energy Center, in Mari, from March 23, 2023, on the road between the EAC substation and the Vassilikos River in Mari, north of the cement plant facilities, system construction works will be carried out sewage system and one lane will be closed to traffic. The heavy traffic will be regulated by traffic lights. The movement of vehicles and pedestrians, on adjacent roads and residences will be done according to the corresponding local arrangements.
