The Police proceeded to the arrest of a total of 13 persons in connection with the outrages in Limassol.
Specifically, around 7.30 last night around 500 people gradually gathered in the GSO parking lot in Limassol, who then marched towards the embankment area.
During the event, 12 people were arrested for flagrant offences. A number of people had done malicious damage to shop windows on the seafront, while fires were set in garbage bins. Further, another person, who is alleged to be the organizer of the event, was arrested with a court warrant. All those arrested were detained.
During the incidents, five people reported to the police that they were attacked by unknown persons, who beat them on various parts of their bodies. All were taken to Limassol General Hospital where they were given first aid and discharged.
