PAPHOS TRAFFIC CAMERAS

 Paphos Live 23 August 2023

With the implementation of Phase B for the installation of traffic cameras, another 66 cameras will be installed at 23 points. These include four locations in Larnaka and four in Paphos. It is noted that cameras were recently installed in Nicosia and Limassol. The points in Paphos are:

Intersection of Europe Avenues with Yiannou Kranidiotis and Georgiou Savva streets: Four cameras will be installed.

Intersection of Ellados Avenue with Dimokratias and Tassos Papadopoulos Avenues: Four cameras will be installed.

Intersection of Athens Avenue with Christodoulou Sozou: Two cameras will be installed.

Intersection of Agioi Anargyroi avenues with Spyrou Kyprianou and Agapinoros: Four cameras will be installed in the second phase.

The points can be differentiated depending on the decisions of the Police, since their placement will be judged according to the circumstances and the frequency of road accidents or fatal accidents at the specific points. At this time, however, it remains unknown when they will be placed.

The Department of Electrical and Mechanical Services has already "given the green light" to proceed with the second phase of installation of fixed cameras, which is the last. Currently, 20 mobile cameras are also in operation, which are placed on motorways, on the secondary road network, but also within cities, in places where road traffic collisions occur or are likely to occur.
