According to official data, Pafos Airport will record an increase of 15% in flights during the upcoming winter season.
A total of 115 flights per week will land in Paphos from 40 airports in various European cities, continuing the huge growth recorded over the last three years by Cyprus' second airport.
In statements, the Executive Director of the Pafos Region Tourism Development and Promotion Company (ETAP), Nasos Hadjigeorgiou, expressed his satisfaction with these data and pointed out that only based on Ryanair's flight schedule as presented in the airline's reservation system, for the winter season 2023-2024 flights are enhanced by 15 per week.
The increase in flights comes mainly from airports in Poland, Austria, France, the United Kingdom and the Baltic countries, while there will be two flights from Athens, he stressed.
According to Mr. Hadjigeorgiou, Εasyjet's flights from five British airports will continue to fluctuate at consistently high levels, with 17 incoming flights per week.
Particularly encouraging, noted the representative of ETAP, is the fact that Pafos remains connected all year round with major airports in the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Poland, Israel and other European states, while there is a need, as he clarified, for further enhancement of flights from airports in Germany, the Nordic countries and Lebanon.
The continuous increase in connectivity is of exceptional and strategic importance for Pafos and Cyprus in general, Nasos Hadjigeorgiou said, since the enhanced programs are expected to give a significant boost to the economy and further development of the various segments of tourism aiming at the full recovery of the industry.
