Salvation was the intervention of members of the Famagusta Traffic Police, providing immediate first aid to a 2-year-old child who was in danger of choking.
Specifically, yesterday around 21:30 a patrol of the Famagusta Traffic Police while on patrol on Nissi Avenue in Ayia Napa, noticed a couple of tourists holding their baby and calling panicked for help. The members of the Police immediately stopped the patrol car and after approaching the couple found that the baby was not breathing after the airway was blocked by food, was bruised and in a faint state.
First aid was immediately provided and after the child resumed his breath, the members of the Police transported him along with his parents in the patrol vehicle to the nearest clinic and then the child was transferred by ambulance to Famagusta General Hospital in Paralimni.
The baby's condition is out of danger thanks to the immediate intervention and response of the two members of the Famagusta traffic police and he is currently being held as a precaution to monitor his condition.
