On the Nicosia – Limassol highway (A1), from Kalispera lights to the Pentaschinos river, from 28/02/2023 and for a period of six months, from Monday to Thursday, between the hours of 09:30 – 13:30, works will be carried out for removal, transfer and repositioning of signs on the highway, in the direction of Limassol. During the execution of the works, the left traffic lane on the highway, in the direction of Limassol, will be closed for approximately 100 meters and the traffic will be diverted to the right traffic lane.
Also on the Nicosia-Limassol highway and the Limassol bypass road, on Monday 7/8/2023 and Tuesday 8/8/2023, between the hours of 09:00 – 16:00, sweeping works will be carried out on parts of the highway and the bypass road, from the Muttayakas exit to the uneven intersection of the New Limassol Hospital. During the works the following will be applied: I. The expressway lane of the highway / Bypass Road will be partially closed for a length of 200m. approximately in one direction only at all times and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane. II. One traffic lane of the connecting roads of the roundabouts will be partially closed for a length of 100m. approximately in one direction only at all times and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane From 12/7/2023 – 11/8/2023, excluding weekends, between the hours of 08:30 – 15:00, forestry work will be carried out on parts of the highway (A6) Paphos – Limassol in the express lanes in both directions on the central islet. During the work, the express lane will be partially closed and traffic will be diverted to the slow lane. On the Larnaca-Kofinou highway, in the period 28/8/2023 – 5/9/2023, every day from Monday to Thursday, between the hours of 08:30 – 15:30, watering works will be carried out on the central islands of the highway, by the Department Forests. During the works, on the Larnaca - Kofinou highway from the Kalos Chorio roundabout to Kofinou, the right traffic lane will be closed in both directions for a length of 1.5 - 2 km. every time. On the Larnaca - Rizoelia and Larnaca - Nicosia Airport motorways (to Nisos), in the period 31/7/2023 - 8/8/2023, every day from Monday to Thursday, between the hours of 08:30 - 15:30, works will be carried out of irrigation in the central islands, by the Department of Forestry. During the works, the right traffic lane will be closed in both directions for a length of 1.5 – 2 km. every time. In Lakatamia, works will be carried out on Tseriou Avenue and Strovolou Street, from Spyrou Kyprianou Avenue to Pefkou Street, from Friday 12/5/2023 and for a period of 20 months, as part of the improvement/construction of Ippokratous, Argyroupoleos and Sektos Avenues of Tseriou Avenue and Strovolou Street. At the same time, during the same period, as part of the reconstruction of Hippocrates Avenue, Themistokleous Street and Areos Avenue will be closed from their junction with Themistokleous Street to Nikias Street and Kentaurou Street respectively. In the province of Nicosia, at the Tseri bypass (Halepiano road), from Saturday May 6, 2023, from 7.00 in the morning and for a period of six (6) months, works will be carried out at the junction with the road under construction that will join the Perimetriko Motorway. The traffic lanes will be moved slightly south for a period of 3 months and then further north for another 3 months. In Tseri, Nicosia province, from September 1, 2022, works will be carried out on the Road within Tseri, which will last 78 weeks and is expected to be completed by February 28, 2024. Works will be carried out within the Municipality of Tseri to upgrade the main road that passes through the Municipality. More specifically, the works will include the construction of a two-lane road (with additional clockwise lanes at the traffic lights) within the Municipality of Tseri for a length of approximately 2.5 kilometers. It also includes the construction of sections of bypass roads (K. Misiaulis, Salaminas, T. Anthia, S. Papalazarou, etc.), in a total area of approximately 600 meters, which contribute to the main road. In the project, a small roundabout will be built connecting Strovolos and Agios Georgios streets at its northern end. Along the road, parking spaces will be created on both sides to serve the commercial areas of the Municipality as well as the two Primary Schools included in the project. The project also includes the construction of sidewalks, the installation of traffic lights, the undergrounding of all utilities, horizontal and vertical signage, the installation of new street lighting and other related works. Depending on each phase of the works, the relevant announcements will be issued that will describe the works/actions to be performed as well as the corresponding traffic regulations.Also within the framework of the "Road within Tseri" Project, in the period from June 21, 2023 to September 29, 2023, the fifth phase of the works will be implemented and a section of Theodosi Pieridis Street will be closed from its junction with Protomagias Street to its junction with Michael Karaoli street. During the above phase, traffic from Nicosia to Marki and vice versa will be diverted to Salaminos, Filias, Amathustos and Analyondas streets. In addition, from Nicosia to Halepianes and vice versa, traffic will be channeled through Salaminos, Anexartisias and Tevkrou Anthia streets. For the above traffic regulations, there will be appropriate temporary markings. Also in Larnaca, on Artemis Avenue, in the period 28/7/2023 – 10/8/2023, between the hours of 06:30 – 13:00, every day except weekends, pruning works will be carried out on the central islands of the road, from the Municipality of Larnaca. During the works, the tangent lane of the center island will be closed in both directions and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane. Also in Larnaca, the Municipality of Livadia will carry out works on A. Stylianou and Alexandrou Panagouli Avenues, in the period 1/8/2023 – 11/8/2023 and 28/8/2023 – 29/9/2023, between the hours of 08 :00 – 15:00, every day except weekends, to replace the water supply system in the central islands of the boulevards. During the works, on A. Stylianou Avenue from the Intercollege roundabout to the Livadia roundabout and on Alexandrou Panagoulis Avenue from the Technical School roundabout to the Agios Savvas church, the lane adjacent to the works will be closed from both directions and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane. In the province of Larnaca, within the framework of the "Improvement of the Larnaca - Dekelia Coastal Road, Phase C" Project, the works that started on September 16, 2022, from the Nauticos Club roundabout to the junction with Pyla, will continue to be carried out next to the boundaries of the road for another three months, until August, 2023. On the Larnaca-Dekelia coastal road, also as part of the construction works of the Project "Improvement of the Larnaca-Dekelia Coastal Road Phase C", works will continue to be carried out at a point on the road despite the Larnaca Maritime Club in both directions until October 10, 2023 and traffic will be diverted to Navarinou Street for 650m. approximately, until Athens Street. Also in the province of Larnaca, on Friday 19/05/2023, the reconstruction works of the Ormidia - Xylofago road will begin, which will last for approximately 12 months, until the end of May 2024. The Project is an improvement of a part of the existing road that connects the community Ormideia with the old Larnaca - Dekelia - Famagusta road. The section of the existing road that is being improved begins immediately after the exit from the residential area (near the junction with Menelaou Ludemi Street) and ends at the junction with the old road Larnaca – Dekelia – Famagusta. In the district of Paphos, the road Nikoklia - Filoussa will be closed from Wednesday 5 July 2023 for a period of 4 weeks, due to reconstruction / repair work on its section. During the works, the diversion of traffic from the Nikoklia - Filoussa road, in the direction of the Communities of Salami, Kelokedaras and Stavrokonnos, will be diverted through a bypass from the exit to Nikoklia, from the highway, past the village of Prastio, through Trachypedoula village. Also in the province of Paphos, the road Aspro Potamos (borders of the State Forest) - Toxeutras in the Akamas National Forest Park is still closed, due to improvement works on the road network. The public, to avoid inconvenience but also for safety reasons, is invited to avoid using the road in question and to use the roads that lead from the communities of Inia, Arodon and Kathika to the Park. In particular, those who will visit Lara should use the "Inia-Lara" road and those who will visit Avakas the "Pano Arodes-Avakas" road. Land owners, farmers, breeders and other professionals operating in the area can use the "Pegia-Osia Matrona-Avakas" road. On the Nicosia-Troodos road, from Tuesday 6/6/2023 and for a period of approximately 6 months, as part of the construction of the Astromeritis-Evrycho highway, retaining walls will be carried out along the Nicosia-Troodos highway in the Koutrafa Community, in the Koronia area. Traffic on the Nicosia – Troodos highway will be conducted through a bypass road parallel to the existing road. In the framework of the construction works of Phase 1 of the Road Network of the Vasilikos Energy Center in Mari, from March 23, 2023, on the road between the EAC substation and the Vasilikos River in Mari, north of the cement plant facilities, construction works of a sewage system will be carried out and one lane will be closed to traffic. Traffic will be regulated with traffic lights. The movement of vehicles and pedestrians, on adjacent roads and residences will be done according to the corresponding local arrangements. Also in the context of the construction works of Phase 1 of the Road Network of the Vasilikos Energy Center, on 7/8/2023, from 06:00 in the morning until 18:00 in the afternoon, part of the road Zygi - Vasiliko - Mari, will be closed to traffic in both directions, from the Petrolina company terminal despite the new roundabout that has been built, to the VTTV company terminal. During the works, traffic will be diverted by a bypass road within the Energy Centre. The traffic of vehicles and pedestrians, on adjacent roads and properties will be done according to the corresponding local arrangements. Also on the road Zygi-Limani Vassilikou-Mari, as part of the construction works of Phase 1 of the Road Network of the Vassilikou Energy Center, from August 8, 2023, until August 9, 2023, from 06:00 in the morning until at 18:00 in the afternoon, part of the road from the new roundabout that has been constructed, to the port of Vassilikos, will be closed to traffic in both directions. During the works, traffic will be served by the old highway via Marie and the bypass road within the Energy Centre. The traffic of vehicles and pedestrians, on adjacent roads and properties will be done according to the corresponding local arrangements.
