CABINET RELEASES CORONAVIRUS DRUGS FOR CATS

 Filenews 3 August 2023

The Council of Ministers decided to dispose of stocks of preparations used to treat coronavirus cases in humans and are no longer used to manage cases of infectious cat peritonitis, which have greatly increased this year, following a proposal by the Ministry of Agriculture.

According to the announcement, the receipt of the preparations on a case-by-case basis will be for the benefit of the animal's guardian, based on a prescription issued by the private veterinarian who monitors the animal veterinarily and the preparation will be ensured by the animal's guardian from the District Veterinary Offices of the Veterinary Services.

It is noted that infectious peritonitis of cats is not contagious to humans.
