The supplier of 647 grams of cocaine is being sought by YKAN Limassol after the arrest of the 37-year-old suspect yesterday.
Despite the fact that he denies possession of more than half a kilogram of cocaine, there is a video in the hands of the police that records him hiding the drug in a built oven of a neighbouring house and fleeing. His parents were also arrested in the case, who were released yesterday afternoon, without charge.
The 37-year-old admitted the 22 grams found in a rubbish bin inside the residence where his parents, aged 65 and 68, live. But for the quantity of 647 gr. cocaine pleads not guilty.
The examinations by the Limassol YKAN focus on the origin of the cocaine and the supplier as well as the persons likely to be supplied by the 37-year-old suspect, for whom the Limassol Court ordered detention for a period of 8 days.
According to "F", the members of the Limassol YKAN received information that the suspect is in possession and distributes a quantity of cocaine which he conceals both at his residence and at his mother's house. After evaluating information, members of the YKAN went to search, with a court warrant, at a house where the 37-year-old's parents live in the area of Kato Polemidia, in Limassol.
At that moment, a 37-year-old man was inside the house, who fled when he realized the presence of the police. During tests carried out in the area where he escaped, a nylon package containing a quantity of cocaine weighing 647 grams was found in a yard inside a built-in oven. In the above house there is an external, closed surveillance circuit which was inspected by the members of the YKAN and the 37-year-old was identified opening the metal door of the oven and placing the cocaine package inside. The 37-year-old is then recorded running away from the house.

Larnaca Assize Court on Wednesday sentenced a 31-year-old political refugee from Sierra Leone to six years imprisonment for raping his female roommate in June last year.
The Court took into consideration his admittance of guilt and the apology extended to the rape victim, Philenews also reports. The felony of rape provides for up to a life sentence of imprisonment.
The rape was committed in June 2022 in the apartment where five people of African descent lived.
The Court heard that the defendant took advantage of the absence of the other people living there to enter the bedroom of the young woman who was sleeping and attempted to have intercourse with her against her will.
When awaken she had tried to push him away, however, the 31-year-old managed to subdue her and rape her. He then took her to the bathroom and washed her.
In a state of shock, the woman reported the case to Larnaca Police who promptly arrested the defendant.
