A British resident of the village of Nata in Paphos lost his life in the afternoon when he was electrocuted. David James, 75, touched EAC power lines that had been cut off.
David James, 75, who lived permanently in the village of Nata with his wife, called the president of the community of Natas, Stavros Iosifidis, about a fire outside his residence in the center of the village. The president of the community with a council employee extinguished the fire and tried to see what caused the fire.
Mr Josephides said that as soon as he saw the cut wires from a nearby abandoned house that had fallen into the victim's yard, he tried to warn the British man of the danger.
But the unfortunate Briton had touched the bare wires and had been electrocuted. Authorities are investigating whether the cables were cut during the fire or whether they caused the fire, while the president of the community Natas, appealed to EAC to cut off the supply to dilapidated and uninhabited premises.
