A new yellow warning for extremely high temperatures on Monday was issued yesterday by the Department of Meteorology.
Specifically, the Department's announcement states that the maximum temperature of the interior is expected to rise around 40 degrees Celsius. The warning is in effect from 11 a.m. on Monday until 5 p.m.
The temperature will hover at the same levels on Tuesday and Wednesday, which are just above the climate averages. A slight rise is expected on Thursday.
In addition, the risk of fires breaking out in all forest areas will be "extremely high" on Monday, the Department of Forests, Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment announced.
"The public is urged to exercise extreme caution and completely avoid actions and activities that may cause fire," it said.
