A 10-year-old girl drowned in a villa pool in Peyia. The girl was in the mansion with her Russian mother.
Under circumstances being investigated the girl was found floating unconscious in the water.

Police arrested the 42-year-old Russian woman, mother of the ten-year-old girl who drowned yesterday afternoon in a villa pool in Peyia.
She faces charges of reckless and dangerous acts. The girl's mother, who was autistic, was reportedly intoxicated when paramedics, ambulance crew and members of the police rushed to the mansion. The 42-year-old woman who suffered shock is being treated under guard at Paphos hospital.
According to the Spokesperson of the Pafos Police Authority and Head of the Pafos ICF, Michalis Nicolaou, at around 16:10 the Police were informed about a dead person in a villa swimming pool in the area of Coral Bay.
"The 10-year-old," Mr. Nicolaou said, "was in Cyprus on holiday with her mother" at the rented mansion.
