A chase of a suspect who was immobilized and finally arrested by the Police in Paphos, disturbed the area of Mesa Chorio in the morning, after the suspect in his attempt to escape caused a fivefold collision of vehicles, while the police were forced to fire three warning shots into the air.
The operation, reminiscent of a movie, unfolded in the area of the community of Mesa Chorio, at the northern exit of the city of Paphos. According to the spokesman of the Pafos Police Directorate, Michalis Nicolaou, in a coordinated operation to locate and arrest a 28-year-old Greek Cypriot wanted for committing arson, car theft, burglaries and thefts recently committed in Paphos, he was spotted in this area riding in a car.
According to the police spokesman, the car was stolen from Limassol and had fake license plates.
At the sight of the police, the suspect tried to flee and as a result he crashed successively into two police vehicles participating in the operation, but also into three private cars that were parked. The officers, Nicolaou said, were forced to fire three warning shots into the air to force the 28-year-old suspect to restrain without anyone being injured.
The 28-year-old was arrested for burglary and theft offences while investigations continue.
