What is the CASHBACK Programme?
Hellenic Bank, aiming at the seamless, easy and fast service of its customers, is the first to offer this service since 2020. However, efforts are now focused on increasing the places where the customer can use this service.
The CASHBACK service is offered as part of the modernization of Hellenic Bank's branch network, which has led to a reduction in branches, providing for customers' cash needs throughout Cyprus, covering many remote areas and villages.
What you need to know
The CASHBACK procedure for withdrawing cash from the cashiers of participating points in the program is done using the debit card.
With your debit card you can go to the cashier of the store to shop and ask for cash up to 100 euros free of charge and be served easily and quickly, combining your purchases with cash withdrawal, free of charge, without hassle and unnecessary travel, looking for ATMs.
Among more than 365 points are bakeries, kiosks, petrol stations, supermarkets, butchers and department stores, places that as consumers we visit frequently. They now also operate as "ATMs".
To claim CASHBACK from cashiers, there is no minimum purchase fee. With your debit card you can buy a loaf of bread or a packet of chewing gum and withdraw cash.
How is it done?
Using the CASHBACK service to withdraw cash from points is very simple. Specifically, the customer enters his personal code (PIN) at the terminal of the store, just like withdrawing cash from an ATM. The amount is charged to the customer's card and he receives the money requested from the cashier of the store.
What the customer should know is that the CASHBACK service is available only when the consumer presents his card and not via Apple Pay/Hellenic Bank Wallet.
The CASHBACK service is activated by the company itself, after contacting the terminal provider for the possibility of withdrawing cash, up to €100, or by specifying other amounts e.g. €20, €50 etc.
