The organizations Youth of Ecologists, Ecological Movement of Cyprus, the Center for Social Innovation and RESET-Research and Education in Social Empowerment and Transformation co-organize this year the well-established Pancyprian campaign to clean beaches and count the garbage of the sea, with the slogan "Wısh you were clean" Vol IV.

A total of four (4) beach cleanups are organized throughout Cyprus to address pollution and preserve the natural environment. The aim of the campaign is not only to eliminate waste from coasts, but also to raise awareness of the importance of reducing pollution in seas and coasts.

At the same time, the clean-up campaign and the scientific action of waste recording are a reminder of the huge problem of plastic waste (especially single-use plastic) in marine ecosystems and human health. Recent research has published alarming results where microplastic particles were detected for the first time in human blood1.

For this reason, the campaign aims to promote volunteerism, collectivity, respect for nature and the joy we receive when we contribute to the environment.
