Pafos Live

Members of the Pafos Traffic Police Team G intercepted yesterday on Ellados Avenue a foreigner from Bangladesh who was found to be staying illegally in the territory of the republic.

In fact, he has been living in the country for ten years, the first years legally, as a worker. But once his employment contract was completed, in 2017 he cited various risks if he returned to his country and applied for international protection status in December 2017.

His request was rejected in April 2018 and he subsequently lodged an administrative appeal with the reviewing authority, which was rejected again in August 2019. In November of the same year, he lodged a new appeal, which was eventually withdrawn, reapplying for international protection.

And this request was rejected again after being declared inadmissible by the asylum service. This was followed by further appeals by this foreigner, which were again rejected, with the last decision rejecting him being served on him in December 2022.
