Filenews 19 June 2023 - by Dora Christodoulou

The impressive and unique aerial footbridge that connects archaeological sites in Kato Paphos is already becoming a pole of attraction for visitors.

Especially tourists who are in Paphos, have now made the project one of their most popular places to visit, as confirmed by officials of the archaeological sites of the area who point out that the information requested by visitors on the subject is daily.

The almost 400-metre-long pedestrian bridge is the practical part of the huge project of unifying the archaeological sites of Kato Pafos. The pedestrian bridge in the area of the archaeological site of Fabrika hill, after many years of work, has been opened to the public, who can now take a walk above ground and go from one side of the archaeological sites of Kato Pafos to the other, walking over the central Apostolou Pavlou Avenue, which leads from the city centre to the port and the pier.

The huge pedestrian bridge connects the western and eastern parts of the archaeological treasures of Kato Pafos, with one end located at the point where the famous Roman Hotel is and the other on the hill of Faprika. The pedestrian bridge passes at a great height over Apostolou Pavlou Avenue, giving an impressive shot to walkers and visitors of antiquities, since they have the opportunity to visually enjoy the entire archaeological area of Pafos.

At the same time, the size of the pedestrian bridge will make it possible, according to the officials, to hold cultural events on it.
