Pafos Police arrested a 32-year-old and a 36-year-old man for two separate investigated cases of drunkenness, alarm, public insult and assault on a police officer.

Regarding the 36-year-old, police say that "further examinations revealed that the 36-year-old was staying illegally" in the territory of the Republic of Cyprus.

According to the Spokesperson of the Pafos Police Authority and Head of the Pafos ICF, Michalis Nicolaou, on 13.6.23 at 14:15 in the arrivals hall of Pafos airport, members of the Police arrested a 32-year-old visitor, who was allegedly intoxicated.

The 32-year-old allegedly caused concern, insulted police officers and pushed a specific officer. He was arrested and detained. He was then charged in writing and released to be summoned later.

Moreover, on 13.6.23 at 22:35 information was given to the Police that on Pafias Aphrodite Street there was a person who caused concern and insulted patrons in nearby restaurants as well as passers-by.

According to Mr. Nicolaou, members of the "Z" team went to the area and found a person who had symptoms of intoxication, insulted the members of the Paphos Police Authority and caused concern. This is a 36-year-old man who, as Mr. Nicolaou said, in addition to the offences he committed, "it became apparent that he was staying illegally in the territory of the Republic and was detained."

One person is wanted by the police for malicious damage and reckless and dangerous driving.

According to the Spokesperson of the Pafos Police Authority and Head of the Pafos ICF, Michalis Nicolaou, on 13.6.23 at 21:00 it was reported by a 27-year-old man that on 12.6.23 at about 21:30 in the evening he went to a kiosk on Mesogi Avenue to shop and upon entering he had a verbal confrontation with another person, who was exiting the kiosk at that time.

The complainant claimed that he entered the kiosk to avoid further problems, shopped, and on his way out, he again met this person waiting for him in wild moods.

The two persons talked, got into a confrontation and then the suspect entered his vehicle, made a U-turn and allegedly drove his car against the complainant's car and hit him in various places, causing him damages worth 2,000 euros.

Further police examinations revealed that the suspect, aged 30, does not have insurance, a certificate of suitability and a vehicle registration.

An arrest warrant has been issued against the 30-year-old and he is wanted.
