With the first light of day, investigations continue into the premeditated murder of 39-year-old Christos Charilaou, which occurred shortly before midnight on Saturday in Parekklisia.

Authorities are reportedly in possession of video footage showing the victim being shot and falling to the ground.

Moreover, the same information indicates that the victim was a person well known to the authorities, who was engaged in illegal dealings. On Saturday night, he left his home earlier to buy food and return, with the attackers setting up a death knell on his return. This evidence is being brought to the attention of authorities, with police investigating the possibility that he had gone somewhere else before returning to his home, where he was shot.

Regarding the person who shot the unfortunate Charilaou, police sources speak of an excellent executioner who seems to have executed his plan from a distance, while from the examinations so far, it is estimated that he was hidden behind carob trees in a field opposite the victim's residence.

In his statements, the head of the ICF of Limassol, Lefteris Kyriakou, said that on Sunday morning, a team of the Ministry of Police Headquarters, the Assistant Chief, officers and members of the ICF of Limassol as well as members of the Limassol Police Directorate visited the scene, who proceeded to extensive searches in the area. He also noted that closed circuits were received and are being evaluated.

From the examinations so far, according to Mr. Kyriakou, it appears that the victim had disembarked from his vehicle shortly before midnight, and while trying to open the door of his house, he received a number of shots. Evidence was received from the scene and is expected to be sent for the required scientific examinations. In the afternoon, the legal autopsy on the body of the 39-year-old is expected to be carried out by forensic pathologists.
