Pafos Police arrested a 58-year-old man for possession of duty-free products.
According to a police statement, members of the Paphos Traffic Police stopped a vehicle driven by the 12-year-old at around 58 noon on Sunday.
In a search, 53 boxes of duty-free cigarettes, 25 packets of tobacco and 286 kilos of cheese products were found inside the vehicle and seized as evidence.
The 58-year-old was arrested for the offence of unlawful possession of property. The Department of Customs and Excise and the Veterinary Services were informed.
Regarding tobacco products, the case was settled out of court with the payment of €8,000 by the 58-year-old.

A 40-year-old man, a resident of Larnaka, was arrested for facilitating police investigations into an ongoing case of assault against a police officer and causing actual bodily harm.
In a written announcement by the Communication Branch of the Police Headquarters, it is stated that at around 20.50 on Sunday evening, the 40-year-old was driving his car on a central avenue in Larnaca, despite the instructions of a member of the Larnaka Traffic Police that traffic on a specific road had been cut off.
The 40-year-old failed to comply and hit the officer with his vehicle, causing the man to fall to the ground and injure himself, according to the police bulletin.
The police officer was transported by ambulance to Larnaka General Hospital where he was given first aid and discharged. According to the attending physicians, he has abrasions and bruises on various parts of his body.
The 40-year-old was arrested and is expected to be released later today.
On Tuesday, the Police will register the case before the Larnaca District Court.
