The Pafos Region Tourism Development and Promotion Company, with the support of the Community Council of Pomos and volunteers from the area, completed today a campaign to clean the seabed in the port of Pomos and the land area. From the seabed, about 800 kg of aggregates were recovered, such as car tyres, plastic objects, metals, bags, old nets and cans.
The Pafos Tourism Board characterizes the whole situation in the fishing shelter as unacceptable, although the impurities were significantly reduced compared to previous cleanups. It calls once again on fishermen, boat owners and others who use the harbour to be even more sensitive to issues of cleanliness of both sea and land.
At the same time, it calls on the Department of Fisheries to strengthen the effort to maintain the shelter in proper condition.
